Hide Glue for Violin Making – Traditional, Reversible Adhesive

Application:
Soak the hide glue in cold water, then gently heat it in a water bath to a maximum of 60 °C until a clear solution is formed. Let the glue cool slightly before application and use it while still lukewarm (approx. 40–50 °C). If necessary, the bond can later be gently loosened by applying steam up to 60 °C without damaging the instrument.
